So just basically a season with lipsync-based challenges. With all the lip sync assassins of AS6 (+ Aja, the first one of AS8)

Welcome back to MDR: The Reboot 2! Alright time to spill last weeks tea! The queens were split into 2 groups for the Light V Dark team design challenge! The darkness took over the light and was the winning team, With Squillvia ultimately taking the gold! Linda had a fall from grace while Elmo seemed to not be able to get back up resulting in her elimination.

Now TONIGHT. LIGHTS! CAMERAS! ACTION! In teams of 3 The queens will be overacting in different sitcoms. Now as last week's challenge winner and lipsync survivor Squillvia and Linda got to pick their teams!

First up

The Trash Can Pageant: Lois, Squillvia, and Kitty

• The Trash Pageant is exactly what it sounds like. A pageant in a landfill for floppy drag queens. The queens act as 3 contestants in the pageant. Lois and Squillvia do really well in the challenge. They deliver their lines amazingly and their chemistry is undeniable! However Kitty seems to just be reading her lines and just going through the motions. Not really delivering a character.

Dusty Cowgirl Boots: Goku, Pepper, and Maria

• Dusty cowgirl boots are about 3 cowgirls who are fighting over the same cowboy! Goku leaves her team in the dust basically being the only interesting one in the group! She gets the most laughs from the judges and her characterization was spot on. Maria and Pepper struggled to keep up with Goku and overall seemed very underwhelming compared to her.

Chronicles of The Lovin Oven: Linda, Big Bird, and Homiyah

• In terms of overall performance this scene is the best. This scene is a cheesy romcom about chefs who fall in love with food! Everyone in this scene shines and gets good laughs from the judges and plays their character wonderfully. In some scenes Homiyah did get lost but it wasn’t too noticeable. Linda however really steals the show with her facial expressions wether she was delivering lines or not!

• You really gagged me tonight! As you were a part of essentially the team of leftovers I think you had to do a lot to prove that you aren’t anyone’s leftover and you did that! You were so fun to watch we could tell you were enjoying yourself so we enjoyed watching you!

Pepper Pan

• You kinda faded for me. Being put in a group with Goku and seeing what she was doing should have been a sign for you to amp it to 1000 and it just fell flat. I wanted to see more highs and lows from you because it seemed very one note.

Linda

• Baby you love rollercoasters huh? Because this was another high for Linda! Everything you did in that scene was amazing, even when the focus wasn’t on you my eyes were still on you because I wanted to see whatever the fuck it was you were doing in the background. Now this look is a little tacky and by a little I mean a lot lol.

Hello Kitty

• I lowkey felt bad for you because you put in a group with 2 powerhouses and I don’t think you were able to keep up. A lot of the scene we kinda lost you it was like “ok lemme say my lines then go back to the back” it didn’t seem like you were apart of the scene at all. Now tonight this is where you shined! I love the pink witch look. All the details are cute. It's ver camp!

• Lois your fucking talented bitch. Tonight you ate that scene up I fear! From your characterization, to line delivery, to the physical comedy aspect you added. You put on an incredible show! Everything about your performance was A+++++!

Maria

• I think you stumbled tonight. I can tell you were in your head and you didn’t deliver your lines with confidence. It was almost like you were unsure if you were saying the right thing. I think next time you need to just commit to it because if you don’t it just seems awkward. Tonight I think you look cute I love the color and details are very stunning.

Plane Jane is cut from the top 2 lipsync due to underperforming in her final performance. She wins $25,000.

Nymphia Wind and Sapphira Crisital lipsync to "Padam Padam" by Kylie Minogue. Allegedly, Nymphia destroys Sapphira.

Sasha Colby's step-down look is a gown with a big crystal, angel wing headpiece.

To no one’s surprise the runway queen of the season is

LA GRANDE DAME

4 top toots and also in the top 3 best looks every single week besides one, now that’s impressive

Marina Summers a very deserving second place, 3 Top Toots and many other honourable mentions, and I love the theme of her package (Phillipino+aquatic)

Also shoutouts to Keta Minaj and Scarlet Envy. Keta also had a theme to her package of slightly darker “witchy” drag and she definitely would have kept serving if she’d stayed around longer, and we’ve always known Scarlet can turn a look and she continued to do so this season.

So I opened insta and found this ^ and was just wondering if anyone knew about this situation.

So apparently there's a rumor that one of the reasons why they decided to hold a Lip Sync LaLaPaRuZa Smackdown for a Reunion instead of the traditional Reunion is because apparently World of Wonder is having plans to potentially develop a new Drag Race Franchise, but the entire season's format is a Lip Sync Smackdown For The Crown, and so they wanted to test it out and see how well it would be received by the fans (I mean, this is currently ranked as the Best Episode of Season 16 on IMDB-)

This may also give queens who don't wanna be on All Stars a way for them to still compete for a crown and show their Lip Sync Talents, such as Laganja Estranja.

Also, another rumor involves when RuPaul said, "Welcome to the new stage of RuPaul's Drag Race," (or something along those lines), apparently there are some hints of allusion of that Main Stage, which was previously used for Secret Celebrity Drag Race (Season 2), potentially being the new Main Stage from now on.

Sooo basically bc Georgi and Gvajardo both failed the first lapsing they rematch in the second lip sync for the actual eliminated title Gvajardo wins and Georgi is now a lost soul
